Food Bank Drive

4th Grade: Food Bank Drive -
The 4th grade students will adopt a food drive to support the Montgomery Area Food Bank (MAFB) as their Community Spirit project this month. Since 1986, the MAFB fights hunger and poverty in South Central Alabama by distributing food and other donated products to 35 of the state's 67 counties. Even though half of the households that visit food pantries and soup kitchens have at least one member who is working, their wages are too low to meet all expenses. Quite often what gets left out is food.
How you can help: Donate non-perishable foods or monetary donations between 3 and 15 December. Canned food items and non-perishable items of any kind are welcomed. $5 enables MAFB to distribute up to 32 pounds of food. This would feed a family of three for two weeks or an elderly couple for a month. Monetary donations should be sent in a sealed envelope marked "Montgomery Food Bank."
Drop off Dates: Dec 3rd and 15th (AM/PM Carpool) - OR - anytime between the 3rd and 15th of December in the MAFB collection containers in front of the office. For more information contact Jeannine at: community_spirit@blountpta.org.
